Ikea is working on smart blinds, according to FCC filing of new remote controls

Ikea is ramping up its Tradfri line of smart home products, based on leaks of its $10 smart plug coming in October and the news of its upcoming smart blinds. Tech journalist Dave Zatz discovered the FCC filing yesterday for an open / close remote control that can be used to operate motorized smart blinds.

Ikea's Tradfri line is currently limited to smart lighting products, but judging from these leaks, the company is quickly on its way to building an entire home automation system. Its affordability — not to mention compatibility with Apple's HomeKit, Amazon Alexa, and Google Assistant — make it a formidable player in the smart home market.
