Nikon’s P1000 has a 125x zoom lens

Image
There's a school of thought in the photography world that suggests you "zoom with your feet," but I don't imagine any of its adherents ever conceived of the Nikon Coolpix P1000. Nikon's latest "compact" camera has a lens with the world's highest zoom ratio: at 24-3000mm equivalence, it's capable of 125x optical zoom. The P1000 is the successor to the P900, which was already breaking new ground with its 83x zoom lens. The P1000's lens only opens up to f/8 at the long end versus f/6.5 on the P900, but that tradeoff may be worth it for the extra reach — at that focal length, you'll want to use a tripod anyway. Both cameras' lenses start at f/2.8 and are paired with an understandably small 16-megapixel 1/2.3-inch sensor. The P1000 is... Continue reading… via The Verge - Tech Posts https://ift.tt/2J

VMware vSphere Certificate Management

Image
In this blog will be focussing on how vSphere Manages Certificates using VMware Certificate Authority (VMCA) and also talk about different type of certificate managed by VMCA including CA certificates, Solutions Users Certificates and Machine Certificates (SSL) . But before we go ahead with VMCA let's talk about certificates in general and discuss about certificates authority. Public key or Digital Certificates are electronic documents which are digitally signed by a trusted certificate source for example Certificate Authority , a certificate can be signed by a CA or it can also be self signed however other parties are not likely to trust certificates as these signing certificates that are used are not embedded in their system, we can make use of self signed certificates for internal use by adding the public key to all the internal systems so as they can trust the Self - Signed

Data Placement Optimizations in vSAN 6.7

Image
A primary responsibility of storage is to make data requested readily available for access. While this may seem obvious, storage systems go to great lengths to accomplish this clear, but challenging objective. Hyper-converged infrastructures factor in additional considerations for data placement and resilience, as the storage is distributed across hosts. Considerations include, but not limited The post Data Placement Optimizations in vSAN 6.7 appeared first on Virtual Blocks . via Latest imported feed items on VMware Blogs https://ift.tt/2J94tLd If New feed item from https://blogs.vmware.com/feed , then send me an email at kr

vSphere 5.5 and vSAN 5.5 End of General Support Reminder

Image
I thought I'd take a moment to remind everyone that the End of General Support (EOGS) for vSphere 5.5 and vSAN 5.5 is September 19, 2018 . VMware recommends that anyone still running those versions of the software upgrade to vSphere 6.5 or vSphere 6.7 as soon as possible to maintain your full level of Support and Subscription Services. Upgrading to vSphere 6.5 or 6.7 will put you in a good spot, and give you all of the latest capabilities of vSphere and vSAN. VMware has announced that vSphere 6.5 and vSphere 6.7 general support has been extended to five years from it's release date, which will end on November 15, 2021. Note: vCloud Suite 5 and vSphere with Operations Management (vSOM) customers running vSphere 5.5 are also recommended to upgrade to vSphere 6.5 or vSphere 6.7. Visit the VMware vSphere Upgrade Center  for more information on the benefits of upgrading and how

The original Lando Calrissian is reportedly coming back to 'Star Wars'

Image
Donald Glover might have done a bang-up job as Lando Calrissian, but we're sure fans would still love to see the character's original actor again. According to The Hollywood Reporter , that's exactly what's happening in Episode IX . Billy Dee Williams is reportedly reprising his role as the slick, cape-loving smuggler in the main Star Wars movies' next installment. The last time Williams portrayed Calrissian on the big screen was in Return of the Jedi back in 1983, though he's voiced the character in cartoon series and video games since then. Williams apparently backed out of attending a sci-fi/pop culture convention due to a filming conflict, igniting rumors that he's going to be part of the next Star Wars installment. The movie, led by JJ Abrams, will start production this summer and will also reportedly feature Keri Russell ( Felicity)
