Corsair's wireless gaming keyboard has a 75-hour battery life

Image
If Logitech's no-lag wireless gaming keyboard converted you into a fan of no-wires gaming, you'll love Corsair's new offerings. The peripheral-maker has launched a handful of devices at CES 2018, including a wireless gaming keyboard of its own, as well as a (huge) mousepad that doubles as a Qi charger. Corsair used CHERRY MX Red mechanical keys for the K63 keyboard and equipped it with a battery that it says can keep it running for 75 hours despite its adjustable blue backlighting. If it truly can last 75 hours, then you don't have to worry about running out of juice in the middle of a game. It's also encrypted to protect you from wireless eavesdropping and can wireless connect to your computer either via Bluetooth or a wireless dongle. But if you can't entirely trust a wireless keyboard to get you through an important raid or battle, you can also plug it in with a USB cord. Corsair has also launched the MM1000 Qi wireless charging mousepad , which can ch...

Anker's Bluetooth charger brings Alexa to your modern car

Image
Some automakers are already planning to load their new models with Amazon's famous voice assistant, but you don't need to buy a new car to have Alexa as a road companion. Anker has launched a new plug-and-play Bluetooth smart charger at CES 2018 called Roav Viva , and it can give you access to the AI no matter what car you're driving -- as long as it supports Bluetooth 4.0 A2DP. The technology's been around since early 2010s, so chances are your vehicle comes equipped with it if you purchased it within the past few years. You can do anything you can usually do with Alexa through Roav Viva, such as checking for weather conditions or ordering a coffee. If you want to play music, you can ask Alexa to connect to iHeartRadio or Pandora. You can also listen to audiobooks on Audible, play Jeopardy with friends during a road trip and use voice commands to look up directions on Google Maps, Apple Maps or Waze. If you want to use Roav Viva as a charger, you can plug in two de...

Vuzix has been making smartglasses for years, but one upcoming model will apparently be extra special. According to Bloomberg , the New York-based company is debuting the first Alexa-enabled augmented reality glasses at CES 2018. You'll apparently be able to ask Alexa questions the way you usually do, and the glasses will show the results on the display à la Google Glass . If you ask Alexa for directions, for instance, the glasses can show a map on the AR screen, as long as you have an Amazon account. The company told the publication that it's excited about the device's "ability to bring Alexa to customers in a new way." This device represents the future Amazon envisioned for Alexa when it opened up the voice assistant's technology. Just recently, Alexa gained the ability to talk to microwaves and electric vehicles , and you can probably expect that list to grow even further. The e-commerce titan also released a mobile accessory kit, making it easy for d...
