Juul is being investigated by Massachusetts for hooking kids on vaping

The Massachusetts attorney general is investigating e-cigarette company Juul Labs in a statewide push to end youth vaping and nicotine addiction. Juul Labs controls more than two-thirds of the e-cig market, "and way too much of their product is ending up in the hands of young people and ending up in schools," Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey said in a press briefing today.

In April, the Food and Drug Administration asked Juul to turn over information about its products and marketing in April. The Massachusetts attorney general's office, following the FDA's lead, has subpoenaed Juul Labs for information about whether the company's marketing and sales strategy has specifically targeted young people. We won't see a 'universal' vape oil cartridge anytime soon

Pre-loaded cartridges of cannabis concentrate are currently among the most popular means of consumption, and for good reason. They're discreet to use and easy to handle, a far cry from the dark days of 2016 when we had to dribble hash oil or load wax into narrow-mouthed vape pens by hand. But, frustratingly, an ever increasing number of oil cartridge manufacturers employ one-off design standards so that their products won't work with those of their competitors, thereby locking customers into proprietary ecosystems.
