Apple Watch Series 4 hands-on: Subtle improvements

Apple has just wrapped its "Gather Round" press event and, as expected, we got our first glimpse at the new Apple Watch, the Series 4. As promised by some press phots that leaked ahead of the keynote, the watch has a larger screen than what we became used to on the first three editions: 35 percent bigger on the smaller 40mm model, and 35 percent larger on the 44mm edition.

My colleague Chris Velazco and I are entering Apple's madhouse of a demo area and are getting a few minutes of hands-on time with the new watch (not to mention those new iPhones). We'll be updating this post throughout the afternoon, beginning with photos, and rounding out with more thoughtful impressions. Stay tuned!

We won't see a 'universal' vape oil cartridge anytime soon

Pre-loaded cartridges of cannabis concentrate are currently among the most popular means of consumption, and for good reason. They're discreet to use and easy to handle, a far cry from the dark days of 2016 when we had to dribble hash oil or load wax into narrow-mouthed vape pens by hand. But, frustratingly, an ever increasing number of oil cartridge manufacturers employ one-off design standards so that their products won't work with those of their competitors, thereby locking customers into proprietary ecosystems.
