Four things to expect from the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 event

It's August, which means two things: lots of tweets bemoaning the impending end of summer (there's still plenty of time to enjoy the sun, folks!), and a new Samsung Galaxy Note device — in this case, the Galaxy Note 9, which Samsung is expected to announce on August 9th at its Galaxy Unpacked event.

Samsung will officially announce the Note 9 on Thursday, despite the fact that it feels like almost every detail of the phone has throughly leaked at this point, including several details that have come straight from Samsung itself. Here's what we're expecting to see:

We won't see a 'universal' vape oil cartridge anytime soon

Pre-loaded cartridges of cannabis concentrate are currently among the most popular means of consumption, and for good reason. They're discreet to use and easy to handle, a far cry from the dark days of 2016 when we had to dribble hash oil or load wax into narrow-mouthed vape pens by hand. But, frustratingly, an ever increasing number of oil cartridge manufacturers employ one-off design standards so that their products won't work with those of their competitors, thereby locking customers into proprietary ecosystems.
