The Huawei Mate SE is a US-branded version of the Honor 7X


Huawei is releasing the Mate SE in the US today as a rebranded version of the company’s recent Honor 7X phone, according to Android Police. The 7X was announced back in December and designed to offer a modern, reduced-bezel design at more budget prices.

Now, eagle-eyed observers may note that Huawei already released the Honor 7X in the US back in February, but that phone wasn’t actually the same 7X released everywhere else in the world. It featured just 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, instead of the 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage found everywhere else.

Hence, the Huawei Mate SE, which features the same boosted RAM and storage as the original 7X that Huawei released internationally. In other words: it’s the “real” 7X. Everything else...
