'God of War's' New Game+ arrives on August 20th

Image
You may want to hold off on replaying God of War for the umpteenth time, at least for the next few days. Sony is rolling out New Game+ on August 20th, giving your next round of mythological father-and-son bonding new elements to make it a bit different than before. One of those elements is something speedrunners and grinders would love: the ability to skip cinematic scenes. You'll even be able to skip cinematics in normal mode after beating the game in New Game+ for the first time. Since the mode carries over your gear and resources from previous playthroughs, it also adds higher level enemies to keep things challenging. Speaking of armors, you can collect a new type of resource called "Skap Slag" to give your gear the highest upgrade possible. Make sure to play around with the new armors and enchantments, as well, to explore the new customization optio...

Anne Frank Center asks Facebook to remove Holocaust denial pages

Image
The Anne Frank Center for Mutual Respect is calling out Facebook for allowing Holocaust denial pages on its site. And the center is doing so through a petition in which it's requesting Facebook and CEO Mark Zuckerberg take them down. "When these pages spread lies and untruths, it is veiled hatred and anti-semitism designed to cast doubt on facts," the center says in the Change.org petition . "There is a difference between providing a platform for free expression and knowingly spreading false information and lies. Denying the Holocaust causes harm." Though Facebook has attempted to stem the spread of misinformation on its site in various ways since acknowledging its fake news problem, the issue still persists. In some cases, that's because Facebook has made an active decision to leave misinformation on its site. Take, for example, last mo...

Apple now offers instant credit toward new devices when trading in online

Image
Apple has updated its GiveBack program , allowing customers to trade in old devices to offset the cost of purchasing a new one even when buying online, as spotted by 9to5Mac . Previously, the only way to immediately receive a credit to use against new purchases was to visit a physical Apple Store. Now, Apple has updated its website to indicate that a credit for trading in an old device can be used right away when buying a new one online. Microsoft threatened to unplug Gab over anti-Semitic posts

Image
After Milo Yiannopoulos got banned from Twitter, he and his followers moved to Gab, a social network priding itself on free speech that has become popular with conservatives and the alt-right. But it appears the platform's hosting provider Microsoft Azure isn't okay with the most extreme views appearing on Gab. Today, the tech giant gave the site two days to pull two posts with anti-Semitic content or it would stop serving it, which could have taken Gab down for weeks or months. They were soon deleted by the individual who made the posts: Far-right Senate candidate Patrick Little. BREAKING: Gab's hosting provider, Microsoft Azure, has given us 48 hours to take action on two posts or they will pull our service and Gab will go down for weeks/months. pic.twitter.com/dIfaeTr2Go — Gab.ai (@getongab) August 9, 2018 In the statement provided to Ga...
