In addition to the major software update for the Vive Focus standalone VR headset yesterday, HTC also unveiled the Seagate VR Power Drive which, as the name suggests, is a hybrid of a power bank and a portable hard drive. This isn't an entirely new idea, of course, but it's the first of such kind designed with VR usage in mind. Specifically, this device packs 5,000 mAh of battery juice -- almost doubling that of the Vive Focus -- plus 1TB of storage space (but no speed specs yet), and it has a detachable be lt clip which can be locked at every 90 degrees. Warpped around the main body is a built-in micro-USB cable with a USB-C adapter at the end (thus making it compatible with a larger range of gadgets, especially smartphones for data backup purposes). If you're over Snapchat because of the countless redesigns and re-redesigns but Instagram's filters don't tickle your fancy, there's a Korean app called Snow that takes all of the beloved features and combines them into a super cute camera app. Snow has been around for a while , but the latest update gives it even more features, including its own take on Apple's adorable Animoji , real-time beauty effects, and a new mirror mode. The new AR emoji feature lets you overlay your face with animated characters, including a puppy dog and an old man. The tech world has been bracing for a new set of European privacy rules that go into effect: the General Data Protection Regulation, better known as GDPR. Companies will have either changed how they handle their EU users' personal data or face serious fines. The regulations are intentionally broad, which has led them to affect industries that aren't typically thought of as trafficking in user information -- like gaming. That means gamers are protected by GDPR while playing online or posting in forums. But in complying with the EU regulations, gaming companies are nervous that they'll inadvertently run afoul of the new law's vaguely written rules. ESPN's recently launched ESPN+ streaming service is adding e-sports to its repertoire . The company has announced that it will broadcast live coverage of several League of Legends competitions this summer, beginning on June 16th with the 2018 North American League of Legends Championship Series Summer Split (NA LCS). After that comes the NA LCS Summer Finals in September September and then the League of Legends World Championship in the fall.
